Patterns in Encaustic Art can be very powerful and a lot of fun to create. But how many patterns are there?
In the BASICS course we looked at a number of fairly simple patterns that are attractive and also great to teach iron handling skills.
But there are untold numbers of patterns. There is a logic in their repetition. They can be a multiple instance of the same thing or a logical discernible mutation of one thing into another. "Place, lift, move", it says in the course.
Can you find a pattern in the wax colours that you have never seen before? I played for maybe an hour to find and photograph some to share below. I wonder what unseen iron patterns you know about or might discover?
The iron is such a versatile tool. It's light to handle once you get used to the size of it all. And it can product very delicate and small marks too!
The thing about creativity is that it does not end. It adapts, transforms, invents.
Courses can be helpful sometimes, to ignite ideas, set possibilities free within a new mind, a new character.
