Always beginning, never ending ...
For more than half my life I have been absorbed with inviting others to begin their own encaustic journeys. Melting wax is in my blood it seems. And what that means is that I am always open to the very BASICS of Encaustic Art. The first touches of wax on heated iron, those first spreads onto the white card, the forms and marks that appear, and then how to start finding some control in all of that.
These courses I am helping create in EncausticHouse are some of those efforts to open doors of understanding for others, to offer a faster path for success in iron techniques.
Melting wax is a big subject, bigger than I ever imagined. And if you are reading this then you too have become involved in this flowing and colourful story.
But how to find those who might be interested in the fantastic creativity that melting wax unlocks? Try TV ...
In this day and age, where we have all become "screenagers", using those screens to meet and share with others, is definitely the way forward. And the first screens that everyone has grown up with were and are TV screens.
We work sometimes on TV shopping channels to expose our encaustic arts to a wider audience. And on each occasion there are some who take the plunge, opening up to the creativity and initial chaos that any new activity will bring.
If you are intrigued about what one of those TV shows is like, then you are welcome to take a look at either of these latest 2 hours. You can skip along the timeline in the videos easily, not 2 hours of broadcasting but a couple of minutes of peeping into that familiar screen, which TV has always filled for us.
* Note that the links will only work until the end of October, then, just like our wax when heated, they simply melt away.
